Name:Madison Thomas
Bio:

I am a second year Computer Science PhD student at North Carolina State University. My interests include CS education, particularly equitable teaching practices within CS and retention of historically marginalized students and faculty within CS.

In the Fall of 2023, I was a teaching assistant for CSC 379 - Ethics in Computing. Also, I have worked with The Engineering Place at NCSU, the NCSU Computer Science Department, and the Computer Science Department at the University of Maryland College Park to create curriculum and lead summer camps for 3rd-12th grade students during the 2023 Summer.

I earned my MS in Computer and Information Technology (CIT) at Purdue University. Previously, I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for CNIT 176 and 180, where I engaged with over 80+ students weekly. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in CIT with a minor in Political Science from Purdue in 2020.

I have previous technical work experience at The Boeing Company, L3Harris Technologies, Dell RSA, and Purdue University as well as other interpersonal professional roles within Purdue University.
