Microphones

All speakers have been told to use microphones in all sessions. All session chairs have been asked to use the microphone and ensure all speakers do as well. There are microphones available for questions from the audience. Please help us all by ensuring all speakers use microphones by requesting their use, even if you aren’t the one that requires it.

Restrooms

There are restrooms on the 1st and 2nd levels. There are family and all-user restrooms on the 1st and 2nd levels.

Smoking & Smoking-free Areas

The entire conference venue is a no-smoking area.

Nursing Space, Sensory Impact and Quiet Area

Nursing Space: There are two Mamaya suites that can be used for nursing. The suites are located near the A and E meeting rooms on level 1. You may request a door code for entry at the registration desk, from receptionists in the Administration Office on Level 2, and by calling 503-235-7575.

Sensory Impact and Quiet Area: The Oregon Convention Center is a KultureCity Certified Sensory Inclusive Venue. Sensory bags are available to help meet guests’ sensory needs. Quiet areas are available in the center. Meeting Room E147 is the SIGCSE Technical Symposium’s designated quiet room. It is available throughout the conference.

Participants are asked to not use flash photography or to wear strong scents. This is to accommodate those who have high sensory sensitivity.

We will have a symposium photography taking photographs during the symposium. If you have a sensitivity to flash photography, please email universaldesign@sigcsets2024.org.

Service Animals

Guide dogs or other service animals are permitted on center premises. However, there is no animal relief area within the building.
