Name:Deborah Boisvert
Bio:

Deborah Boisvert is the Founder and Executive Director of CSforMA, Inc. which is working across Massachusetts in close collaboration with the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to build capacity so that all K-12 students have access to, are able to take and be successful in high-quality computer science coursework. Our priority is to broaden the participation of females, students of color, rural students, and other underserved populations. This is accomplished through working at the district level in the Implementation of Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS); developing coursework, academic pathways and work-based learning opportunities to allow students to achieve the DLCS standards and gain valuable college and career success; providing professional development experiences for educators to help them gain DLCS Licensure and remain current in the field; and convening stakeholders through annual Summits and CSforMA Celebrations of Achievement.

Boisvert has led numerous federal and state grants focused on developing and implementing computing pathways and related educational programs that advance the educational and professional objectives of educators and students. She has designed numerous professional development initiatives that advance the content, pedagogical and equity-focused capabilities of educators across K–12 education.

Boisvert is co-principal investigator for the NSF-funded Innovation Pathways for Data Careers, focused on designing, developing, and building educator capacity for a data career option for Massachusetts high school students. She also is a computer science content expert for the U.S. Department of Education Programming the Acceleration of Computing and Equity (PACE) program that supports the adoption of computer science as an important component of middle-school education. She is also a facilitator for Strategic CS for All Resource and Implementation Training (SCRIPT), which is a formal process for creating and adopting a district-wide computer science education plan and the Regional partner for Code.org in Massachusetts.
